5 Amazing Mr Tumble Activities

Are your kids dotty about Mr Tumble? Then you and they will love these activities based on the CBeebies TV programme. From an easy way to give a teddy a Tumble makeover, to a fun way to make a Tumble Tapp, we’ve dreamed up five brilliant activities you can do together at home. They’re all quick, easy and perfect for kids aged 2-plus – giving you 5 minute’s peace! Woohoo!

 1) Tumble Ted: kids can give a favourite teddy a Tumble makeover

What you’ll need: pink card, red paint, elastic or ribbon, scissors

What to do:

1. Cut a bow tie shape out of pink card.
2. Ask your Little Tumble to dip their finger in the paint, and fingerprint spots all over the bow tie. Leave it to dry.
3. Make two little holes in the middle of the bow tie and thread a short piece of elastic or ribbon through.
4. Put it on your favourite teddy to wear like a true Tumble.

 2) Tumble Tapp: make your very own spotty tablet

What you’ll need: yellow card, paint

What to do:

1. Snip the card to give it curved corners.
2. Now, it’s time for your child to decorate their Tumble Tapp. Can they paint lots of colourful spots on the back. And on the front, stick some photos of characters (or people!) they love.

QUICK FUN! Play a spotting game with the Tumble Tapp. Name items in the room for your little Tumble to find and point to.

 3) Tumble House: a cosy home for a toy


What you’ll need: a box, a small box, paints, scissors, glue, free template, a favourite toy

What to do:

1. Download and print out this free template and cut two sides off the large box so it looks like the picture.
2. Give your child some paint so they can paint the inside of the box.
3. Now, they can paint the small box to make Mr Tumble’s bed. Leave them both to dry
4. Cut out the bedroom pieces from the template and stick them around the room.
5. Now your child can have fun playing with their toy and tucking them into bed!

 4) Tumble Cupcakes: a spotty treat

What you’ll need: ready-made cupcakes, icing sugar, water, Smarties

What to do:

1. First, make the icing. Measure out 125g of icing sugar and add 1 tbsp water. Ask your Little Tumble to give it a mix. If it’s too runny, add a teaspoon of icing sugar. If it’s too thick, add a small drop of water.
2. Ask your Little Tumble to decorate the cakes. Pour a teaspoon of icing onto a cake, and then spread it with the back of the spoon.
3. Now, they can add a few Smarties to each cake to make it spotty.
4. Leave to set.

5) Beep beep! Kids can make a Tumble car from a tissue box

What you’ll need: a small tissue box, free template, scissors, glue, paint or coloured paper, favourite toy

What to do:

1. Download the free template and help your child to cut out the pieces.
2. Now, they can paint the tissue box, or cover it in coloured paper.
3. Next, they stick the pieces from the template onto the car.
4. Finally, they can pop their toy in the opening on the top, and push to drive it around town!
