Alternatively, if you’re in any of the following major cities, we love:

  • Science Museum – a classic that’s free to visit, this London science hotspot has everything: planes, train and robots; space, travel and space travel.
  • Thinktank – Birmingham’s answer to the Science Museum isn’t free to enter, but it does have a giant sea monster from the time of the dinosaurs, that is being displayed in full for the first time. It’s also got basically everything else.
  • Edinburgh International Science Festival – the city that loves a festival is back at it for British Science Week. Running throughout April, EdSciFest features a whole host of hands-on events focused on our Information Age.
  • Eureka!  – If you’re anywhere near Halifax, this children’s museum is great value. An annual ticket gets you access to all zones and experiments for (as it suggests!) the whole year. And for BSW, there’s a real-life crazy scientist in residence.
  • The National Space Centre – that’s right, we’ve got a space station of our very own! It’s in Leicester, and it’s crying out for a visit.
