Easiest ever 5-ingredient meals

These simple, time-saving recipes have only five ingredients each. Not only are they quick, but they’ll save you money too!

Stuck for dinner inspiration? Bored of the same old midweek meals? Try these super-simple ideas. You’ll find the ingredients in your store cupboard, fridge and freezer. They’re delicious, quick, and the best part is, your child can do some of the work! Let’s get cooking!

1) Blackened salmon fajitas: an ideal quick-fix meal.

What you’ll need: 4 salmon fillets, oil for frying, 1 fajita kit, 2 avocados, 2 limes

What to do:

Ask your kids to help you do the prep:

1. They can mash the avocados.
2. They can assemble the fajitas and squeeze the lime!

2) Turkey twist pie: a pretty, healthy dinner!

What you’ll need: 500g frozen chopped chargrilled vegetables, 250g tub ricotta, 130g pack roast turkey slices, 270g pack filo pastry (7 sheets)

What to do:

Ask your kids to help you do the prep:

1. They can mix the veg and ricotta.
2. Then brush the pastry with oil.
3. And spoon out the filling.

 3) Cheesy tuna pesto pasta: a delicious meal from store cupboard essentials!

What you’ll need: 400g penne, 200g can tuna in oil, 190g jar pesto, 100g cheddar, 250g cherry tomatoes

What to do:

Ask your kids to help you do the prep:

1. They can mash together the tuna and pesto.
2. They can stir in the cheese and tomatoes.
3. Then, they can scatter on the cheese topping!

4) Sausages with pesto mash: liven up your midweek meal with pesto!

What you’ll need: 3 large white potatoes, olive oil, 4 pork or veggie sausages, 200g cherry tomatoes, ½ tub fresh pesto

1. They can mash the potatoes.
2. Then, they can mix in the pesto.

5) Goat’s cheese, pea & bean frittata: a simple, delicious standby supper!

What you’ll need: 300g mix frozen peas and beans, 8 large eggs, splash of milk, 100g log of goat’s cheese or feta, 1-2tbsp chopped mint

What to do:

1. They can beat the eggs.
2. Then stir the cheese, veg and mint into the eggs.
