Who likes bubbles? We all like bubbles! They’re quiet, mess-free and calming. So why not have even more fun with bubbles using our ideas below. Suitable for kids of all ages, they’re bursting with fun!

How to make your own bubble mix

What you’ll need:

  • 240ml warm water
  • 115g sugar
  • 120ml washing-up liquid

What to do:

  1. Pour the sugar into the warm water. Stir until it dissolves.
  2. Add the washing-up liquid and give it a good shake.
  3. Wait an hour or so for it to settle, then it’s ready to use.

Create your own bubble wand

What you’ll need:

  • pipe cleaners

What to do:

1. Bend the end of a pipe cleaner into a loop. Or experiment with making your own shapes, like squares or hearts.
2. Pour some bubble mix into a bowl, then have fun dipping the wand in and blowing lots of perfect bubbles!

What you’ll need: paint, washing-up liquid, straws, plain paper

What to do:

1. Mix half a cup of water, a squirt of washing-up liquid and paint into cups (one for each colour).
2. Ask your child to blow through a paper straw into the cup to create bubbles. Make sure that they know not to suck!
3. Take a piece of paper and press over the bubbles to make a print.
4. Repeat with all the colours until you’ve filled the paper with beautiful bubble prints.
