Visit Longleat’s Under the Moon exhibition with your kids this summer

Are you trying to organise a family day out now lockdown restrictions have eased? We can’t wait to get out of the house and explore somewhere fun and exciting – the trouble is keeping all ages happy (grown-ups included!)

That’s why we LOVE Longleat in Wiltshire. The Safari Park has loads for kids to see and do, plenty to keep adults interested, and there’s a brand new animal exhibit opening in The Longhouse this summer.

Inside, you’ll have the chance to meet Longleat’s fascinating creatures of the dark – from cave fish to scorpions and slender loris – as they’re lit up by a six-metre replica of the moon suspended in the air. What’s more, the moon sculpture (titled ‘the Museum of the Moon’ and designed by UK artist Luke Jerram) has been created using detailed imagery from NASA, to make it look super realistic.

Outside The Longhouse, you’ll also get the chance to learn about the nocturnal wildlife that live on the Longleat estate, with giant straw sculptures including barn owl, fox, mole, snail, and more.

Tickets for Under the Moon include access to the main animal attractions around the rest of the Park, too, so don’t forget to check out Koala Creek, the Jungle Cruise boat tour, and Longleat Railway. And of course, everyone’s favourite, the Safari Drive-through, where you’ll be able to get up-close to lions, tigers, cheetahs, camels, zebras and giraffes from the safety of your own car. Just make sure you hide your packed lunch from the monkeys!
