Once you’ve made this rainy day maths game, you can keep coming back to it again and again.
What you need: grey card, blue card and a pen.
What to do:
Cut out 5 cloud shapes, about 20 raindrops and a lightning bolt.
TOP TIP: Fold and layer the paper so you can cut out multiple shapes at once.
How to play:
Game 1. Write a number on a cloud and ask a toddler or preschool-aged child to give the cloud that many raindrops.
Game 2. Add clouds together. Can your child count how many raindrops are created when a cloud with 2 and cloud with 4 come together? (2 + 4 = 6).
Game 3: Decide on a magic number together. When you have added two clouds together to make that many raindrops, the clouds crash and make thunder. They quickly add the lightning and add all the raindrops they can find.
